Synopsis

David Attenborough follows the twists and turns of a forensic investigation, into what is revealed as the largest land animal ever known. Synopsis

When Air Force One is shot down by terrorists leaving the President of the United States stranded in the Finnish wilderness, there is only one person around who can save him - a 13-year old boy called Oskari. In the forest on a hunting mission to prove his maturity to his kinsfolk, Oskari had been planning to track down a deer, but instead discovers the most powerful man on the planet in an escape pod. With the terrorists closing in to capture their own "Big Game" prize, the unlikely duo must team up to escape their hunters. As anxious Pentagon officials observe the action via satellite feed, it is up to the President and his new side-kick to prove themselves and survive the most extraordinary 24 hours of their lives.

Car Park

Synopsis

The story takes place on an empty plot of land surrounded by apartment buildings in the very heart of Budapest. This is the car park where Legionnaire is king. For him, this small square of land is the centre of the world; and this is where a family of blackbirds live, and he has become very fond of them. But a dark shadow spreads across Legionnaire’s perfect little world when a ginger cat appears on the scene and sets its feline sights on one of the adult blackbirds. And then, as if none of this were bad enough, Imre pulls up in his 1968 Ford Mustang. Anyone can park wherever they like, except for one particular spot: an area sheltered by a roof where Legionnaire has buried a little blackbird. But Imre is determined to secure this parking space at any cost. Legionnaire has a double battle on his hands: with the ginger cat that gradually exterminates the blackbird family, and with Imre who is not used to getting no for an answer. We soon see that their war is no longer about where a man can park his car, but rather a desperate struggle between two very lonely figures who are forced to face the lie they are living and the scars they carry from their past, as they learn to abandon the very things they once thought constituted the meaning of their lives.

Coconut Hero

Synopsis

The story of Mike Tyson. Not the boxer, a different one. It is not easy being a teenager and Mike, 16-years-old, is having the very worst of times. He lives with his mother Cynthia, a notorious nagger, in Faintville, a town based around the timber industry, set in its days and ways, deep in the Canadian forests. He has no father, no friends, not even a favorite food. Basically, his sole wish is to vanish from the face of the earth. One day, Mike decides to put an end to the cynical joke that fate has played on him, or life as it is called in other words: he places his own obituary and shoots himself! To his greatest disappointment he wakes up the next day not in heaven but at the local hospital. And suddenly Mike's fate takes a very different turn when, during a routine examination, the doctors discover a plum-sized tumor in his head. Mike can scarcely believe his luck and keeps the illness to himself so as to avoid undergoing the operation that would save him. Staring death directly in the eyes, however, changes Mike’s view of life. For example, it causes him to re-evaluate his opinion of the crazy and enchanting Miranda, the first human being who appears to understand him. And slowly but surely, Mike develops a completely new wish.

Do You See Me?

Synopsis

Serena Bruno has a master degree in architecture, speaks several languages and works in London. She returns to Italy but cannot find a job even remotely comparable to the one she had. One day, Serena discovers the “Corviale”, an urban eyesore on the outskirts of Rome and a notice for its redevelopment. She prepares a futuristic project and submits it to the Town Hall, but when her surname is mistakenly taken to be the first name of the (male) architect who authored it – afraid of not being taken seriously – Serena keeps mum over the misunderstanding, with the ensuing comic results.

Fire At Sea

Synopsis

Samuele is 12 years old and lives on an island in the middle of the sea. He goes to school, loves shooting his slingshot and going hunting. He likes land games, even though everything around him speaks of the sea and the men, women and children who try to cross it to get to his island. But his is not an island like any other, it is Lampedusa and it is the most symbolic border of Europe, crossed by thousands of migrants in the last 20 years in search of freedom, in one of the biggest humanitarian crises in history.

Synopsis

Elia gathers a group of friends and family at a fancy holiday home to celebrate her 40th birthday. The guests do not expect what Elia has to tell them: she has won the EuroMillions lottery jackpot. When they receive the news she has won 140 million euros, the guests start planning how they are going to end up with the money.

In line for Anne Frank

Synopsis

All year long there is an 'eternal line' of people waiting to visit the Anne Frank House in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. Who are they? Where are they from? And why are they here? This film watches the line through the course of the four seasons, in search of stories from all over the world. We see people both before and after their visit to the Secret Annex, and hear what it felt like to spend a few moments in such close touch with history. Personal stories are interspersed with passages from Anne Frank's diary, read in many different languages by girls about the same age as Anne at the time. Meanwhile we get an impression of everyday life as it unfolds around those waiting in line - the canal boats, the street musicians, the ticket seller, the homeless man... For all its poignancy "In Line for Anne Frank" is a document that also inspires hope.

My Life As A Zucchini

Synopsis

Zucchini is a rather unusual nickname for a 9-year-old boy and his unique story is surprisingly universal. After his mother’s sudden death, Zucchini is befriended by a kind police officer Raymond, who accompanies Zucchini to his new foster home filled with other orphans his age. At first Zucchini struggles to find his place in this strange, at times, hostile environment. Yet with Raymond’s help and his new found friends, he eventually learns to trust, finds true love and at last a new family of his own.

Mystery of Green Hill

Synopsis

Koko and his friends are spending their summer vacation by the lake near the idyllic Green Hill, hanging out and playing. The magical countryside is disturbed by unusual events which alarm the children as well as the locals: under the cover of night, burglars break into one house after another, stealing anything valuable they can find. When they poison Koko's and Marica's dog, and the police turns a blind eye to denunciations by adults, the children decide to take matters into their own hands and unmask the burglars.
