Deepavali is just around the corner, and if you wanna get in with the last-minute Deepavali shopping spree, here are suggestions of where to go to fully experience the Festival of Lights and get in on the bargains!  

1. Little India, Brickfields

Known as the BIGGEST Little India in Malaysia, Brickfields literally brings Deepavali to life with its lights, music and decorations. Offering you everything you need and more from food, clothes, spices and textiles, Little India Brickfields offers you nothing short of a celebration. So head on to Brickfields, especially in the evenings and immerse yourself with the special Deepavali showcase and bazaar that has been set up in conjunction with the Festival of Lights.

2. Little India, Penang

Despite having a Little India in Kuala Lumpur, there is also a Little India on the island of Penang. A charming place in George Town, look out for hidden gems at this Little India. From sarees to accessories, the sweet smells of spices and incense and intricate trinkets, there’s so much to discover at the Little India in Penang. Also, it’s a great place for Instagram pictures! 

Insider tip: Little India in Penang is the home to some of the most amazing Indian delicacies in the state, so look out for some of Penang’s best Samosas and Nasi Dalca and then check out some of the beautiful temples there too!

3. Little India, Melaka

The final Little India on our list is the one in Jalan Bendahara in Melaka. Colourful and vibrant, the Little India in Melaka is currently in the midst of their Deepavali Carnival where you can definitely catch in on last-minute bargains. With over 40 stalls set up, cultural performances and kolam competitions, there's so much to do as we get ready to usher in the Festival of Lights. Insider tip: They've got an extensive range of worship items, flower garlands and textiles, and are located in a beautiful area filled with heritage shophouses.

4. Deepavali Carnival 2023, Bukit Jalil National Stadium

Come and be part of a record-breaking Deepavali celebration at the Deepavali Carnival 2023. Attempting to get into the Malaysia Book of Records for the Largest Deepavali Carnival and Largest Consumer Fair 2023, this carnival is ongoing till the 11th November from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Carpark B, Bukit Jalil.

With a host of world-class performances, and jam-packed with various booths selling everything you need to usher in the Festival of Lights, the Deepavali Carnival 2023 is a bargain hunter's heaven.
