Forest Exploration with Genting Nature Adventures

Calling all nature and outdoor enthusiasts!  How does spending half a day exploring a 130 million year old rainforest above the clouds sound? Nestled in between 3,000 to 6,000 ft above sea level, Genting Nature Adventures is one of the planet’s oldest and most uniquely diverse tropical rainforest experiences, offering an immerse and rich insight into the biodiversity of Genting Highlands.

Discover the never-before-seen natural wonders consisting of both plant life and animal inhabitants that made the highlands their home for millions of years.

Get up close and personal with various fauna and flora - encounter wild Siamangs, slow lorises, mountain goats, beautiful tropical birds and endangered highland pitcher plants. Learn more about them through narrated guided tours and interactive way finding as you hike through their majestic natural habitat and incredible landscape thousands of feet above sea level in cool weather! You may even glimpse the highlands’ elusive black panther, Charlie amidst the ferns!

In celebration of International Day of Forests (IDF) recently, we had the opportunity to journey through 3 different forests from the Awana Bio Park or the Upper Dipterocarp Forest at 3,000ft above sea level to Chin Swee Bio Park or Montane Oak Forest at 4,500ft above sea level and Genting Bio Park or Montane Ericaceous Forest at 6,000ft above sea level to gain some knowledge on ecology, biodiversity and capture fabulous pictures of the flora and fauna as we took in the beauty of the highlands in conjunction with this year’s IDF theme, “Forests and Health”.

Nature serves to inspire, reflect and heal so reap the benefits of better physical and mental health by communing with nature.

Do note that some of the plants pictured here are endangered and were found in the mossy forest at Genting Bio Park which is located on private land and closed to public.


Genting Nature Adventures offers just two guided trails walks, the Awana Trail and Clearwater Way at present, with the Heritage Trail opening up in April and Memorial and Dragon Back Trails soft launching in September and January 2024, respectively.
