Art of Speed, Malaysia’s very own homegrown Old-Skool & Kustom Kulture event is back with its annual treat for motor heads, showcasing the local kustom scene comprising of customised cars and bikes, art galleries, interactive activities, as well as a stunt show.Art of Speed 2017 (AOS 2017) was held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS), on 29 – 30 July 2017 from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. The show recorded over 40,000 visitors for both days."Chopperdave" Freston from USA,Shige Suganuma from MOONEYES Japan, Coffee Talk.Cars and bikes enthusiasts had the chance to meet international guests including Cole Foster from Salinas Boys Custom Cars & Bikes USA, Jeff Holt from Hot Bike Magazine USA, David “Chopperdave” Freston from USA, Shige Suganuma & Wildman from MOONEYES Japan, Dino Dalle Carbonare from Speedhunters.com Japan, Kaichiroh Kurosu from Cherry’s Company Japan, Yuichi Yoshizawa from Custom Works Zon from Japan, Makonabe from Chopper Journal Magazine Japan, Tetsu from Hopping Shower Japan, Sugihara Ken from Fusty Works from Japan, Toshiyuki Osawa from 4th Dimension from Japan, Shigeo from 420 Kustom from Japan, Chicarockabilly Shima & Theresa Tay from Cherry Bomb Singapore, Irvine Jasta & Fahmi Freeflow from Indonesia, The Nash from Burnout Magazine Japan, and the art collective pinstripe group from Japan; Makoto, Mr. G, Jetwrench and Cynar.The event also rewarded the best talents in the show via the AOS Invitational Bike Build Off 2017, powered by Petronas, which saw 10 builders from Malaysia and Singapore vying for RM10,000 cash prize (jury selection) & RM5,000.00 cash prize (public choice).The overall jury pick winner was an astonishing well customised Honda CX500 built by Muhammad Khalid Musa from Rusty Factory. The 30 years old Ipoh lad also walked away with the Public Choice award with the most cast votes beating out the other 9 builders.Invitational aside, visitors also witnessed a special collaboration between Boon Siew Honda, an iconic brand in Malaysia, and Art of Speed. The Boon Siew X Art of Speed section were among the main highlights of the event, featuring four lifestyle icons such as the Legend Racing Garage, BWB, District Shop Gallery and Ah Ho Motors to showcase their creations.The HOUSE OF VANS Skateboard & BMX Competition and art workshop was an exciting section to visit with plenty of activities for children, teenagers and the young at heart.Hot Wheels’ lead designer Jun Imai from USA also graced AOS 2017 with his presence.Popular Band HUJAN The Crowd at the HUJAN Concert.While visitors were busy feasting their eyes on the machines, Oh Chentaku performed the opening act on Saturday, while popular band Hujan closed the event on Sunday with a bang! The presence of local celebrities such as Nora Danish and Alif Satar also added to the merriment of the event.Asep (Founder of AOS Malaysia) with Mohd Fadly Mohd Zerain on his Yamaha RX-Z twin Engine.Last but not least, there were daily lucky draws, where a CMC XY400 was given away on Saturday to Abdul Halim Mat, and a fully custom Yamaha RX-Z twin engine by FNG Works & Beautiful Machines was given on Sunday to a lucky chap from Perlis, Mohd Fadly Mohd Zerain.Keeping up with its traditions, the organisers once again brought in ‘souped up’ Japanese vehicles for an exhibition like no other.
